Howard Marten Company Limited is a world leader in the design and manufacturing of oil lubrication and other fluid systems for the domestic and international market. We are located in Pickering, at 875 Dillingham Road.

Summary of Position

We currently have an opening for an experienced Project Manager to oversee projects from receipt of purchase order to completion of commercial contract while maintaining customer satisfaction, on-time delivery and project profitability.  These objectives will be accomplished by maintaining achievable project schedules, monitoring costs and profitability, and effective communication with customers and all internal departments.  Working closely with the Production Scheduler you will ensure realistic project schedules are maintained at all times, and work with all departments to identify and mitigate risks to customer satisfaction, on-time delivery and profitability. 

You will also be responsible for the following: review of customer purchase orders and commercial terms; manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects; coordinate project schedule with all departments to ensure project timelines are met; ensure project hand-offs between departments are completed in a timely and effective manner; ensure Manufacturing Order Entry (MOE) is current in all areas; coordinate with the customer any changes, providing cost and schedule impact resulting from the changes and obtaining updated purchase order; investigate and answer customer questions; review material costs and labour hours to maintain project budget; and ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing according to purchase order commercial terms.

Experience and Requirements:

  • College or University degree.
  • Project management designation or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years or more related project management experience.
  • Effective leadership skills.
  • Thorough, detail oriented, and self-motivated.
  • Demonstrated success in project delivery and execution of project management methods.
  • Strong knowledge of project scheduling software (Primavera preferred), and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Able to work on many projects with a broad range of size and complexity, simultaneously and/or at different stages.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff.
  • Strong risk assessment and problem resolution skills.
