AGAT Laboratories is currently seeking a Fire Assay Technician to join our Thunder Bay team. The successful candidate will support laboratory operations by preparing and analyzing samples while ensuring accurate, timely, and high-quality results. What you will be doing: Receive work orders and perform sample preparation. Prepare samples, reagents, and calibration standards for analysis. Perform sample analysis according to established procedures. Maintain laboratory instrumentation in an optimized and calibrated condition. Troubleshoot basic instrumental issues and perform routine maintenance. Verify and validate analytical data. Maintain accurate and up-to-date laboratory records. Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs) and quality control (QC) requirements. Meet established quality assurance and turnaround time specifications. Assist with training junior analysts as required. Perform other laboratory and administrative duties as assigned. What you bring to the table: Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Good problem-solving and communication skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Basic computer proficiency. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 kg. Must be able to properly wear a respirator and work in hot conditions. Willingness to work overtime during peak periods as required. Previous laboratory experience is an asset; training will be provided for the right candidate.
