Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Open Pit Geology Coordinator, you will be part of the Geology Department. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s culture, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Manage tasks as assigned to the position by the Open Pit Production Geology Coordinators; Assist the production geologists with the management of the OP delineation drilling campaign by participating to tasks such as handling core boxes, sampling drill core and diamond drill inspections Lay out ore packets and refresh as needed; Lay out “no dig” and “blast limit” lines when necessary and refresh as needed; Install and recover BMMs; Liaise with the production geologists and mine operations to ensure that contacts are respected, and ore material is moved to the appropriate destinations; Collect blast hole samples and drop them at the assay lab in a timely manner; Sample muck faces and/or test stockpiles; Assist with the production geology activities such that files, maps, and records are accurate and up to date in a timely manner; Performs other related departmental duties as required. What You Need To Succeed College Diploma in mineral technology or equivalent (experience with surveying practices and equipment is an asset); 2 years of experience in the mining industry (open pit experience is considered an asset); Hold a valid driver’s license; Cultural awareness and understanding of work in the Canadian Arctic is considered an asset; Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suits applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint. Note that the official working language at Meliadine is English. Your Work Schedule Schedule: 14 days of work, followed by 14 days for transportation and rest; Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.

Requirements

Requires a college diploma in mineral technology or equivalent, at least two years of mining industry experience, and a valid driver’s license. Strong Microsoft Office skills are required; surveying experience, open pit experience, and cultural awareness of work in the Canadian Arctic are assets.
