The J. Hansen HVAC Group Inc. is in search of a Heating & Boiler Technician. The successful candidate will be a dedicated, self-motivated individual with strong mechanical aptitude who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. This role involves performing service, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial and residential heating systems, with a strong focus on boilers, gas systems, controls, and overall system performance. The ideal candidate will focus on the control, functional performance, and preventative maintenance of heating systems, motors, pumps, and other supporting mechanical components. They will maintain excellent rapport and nurture long-term, value-based relationships with new and existing customers. Duties and Responsibilities: * Perform boiler teardowns, inspections, and system start-ups * Troubleshoot, maintain, and service commercial and residential boilers and heating systems * Diagnose and repair hydronic and steam heating systems * Service and maintain pumps, motors, heating piping systems, and related components * Troubleshoot and work proficiently with boiler and heating control systems * Install, service, repair, and replace components of natural gas and propane systems in accordance with Manitoba gas codes * Ensure compliance with all applicable Manitoba regulations, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications * Ensure optimal system functionality, safety, and performance * Complete accurate service documentation, reports, and work orders * Communicate professionally with customers regarding system performance, findings, and recommended repairs * Maintain strong, professional relationships with customers to support long-term service partnerships * Support 24-hour emergency service on a flexible rotating on-call schedule * Maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles in good working condition * Perform other related duties as assigned Skills and Qualifications: * Must be proficient in boiler and heating control systems * Service experience in commercial and/or residential environments is an asset * Experience with boilers, pumps, motors, and heating piping installations is an asset * Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * Ability to support 24-hour emergency service on a flexible rotating schedule * Ability to conduct work while standing, bending, crawling, lifting, climbing, pulling, and reaching * Ability to work in confined spaces, on ladders, and/or aerial platforms * Must be comfortable working at heights * Valid driver’s license and willingness to provide a driver’s abstract Education & Certifications: * Completion of secondary school is required * Red Seal Trade Certification in Plumbing, HVAC, or Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (RACM) is required * Valid Gas Fitter Class A License is preferred, Gas Fitter Class B License will be considered based on experience and scope of work * WHMIS and applicable safety certifications Benefits: * Complete health benefit package * Competitive company RRSP package with option for employee matching * Competitive wages, above industry standard Job Type: Full-Time
