Job summary
Air Unlimited Inc. is seeking a skilled and self-motivated Industrial Service Technician – Power Generation Systems to join our team. The successful candidate will have strong electrical and mechanical aptitude and will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of generator systems. We are willing to train interested applicants who may not have direct industry experience but possess a general knowledge of small engines and strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. Duties and Responsibilities: * Install, start up, and commission generator systems. * Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain issues identified during inspections or testing. * Perform load bank tests on diesel, natural gas, and propane generators. * Adjust generator voltage and settings according to customer specifications. * Rewire, adjust, and install control panels and voltage regulators. * Operate and maintain three-phase electric motors and motor control circuits. * Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, diagrams, and manufacturer specifications for engine-driven emergency power systems. * Adjust speed controls and other generator parameters as required. * Provide customers with accurate parts and service recommendations. * Collaborate with the Shop Manager to review project progress, timelines, and estimates. * Assist with generator preparation, testing, and shipping as required. * Cross-train in compressed air systems to support additional service areas. * Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. * Perform other related duties as assigned. Skills and Qualifications: * Minimum of 3+ years of experience working with industrial or commercial power generation equipment preferred. * Strong understanding of diesel, natural gas, and propane engine systems. * Knowledge of generator operation, maintenance, and control systems. * Electrical and mechanical aptitude, including the ability to perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs. * Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, diagrams, and technical manuals. * Valid Limited Electrical License (M-Class) is an asset. * EGSA Technician Certification or similar credentials are considered an asset. * Experience or familiarity with compressed air systems is an asset. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective teamwork and customer interaction. * Strong organizational and time management abilities; capable of completing work independently. * Proficient in estimating task durations and managing workloads efficiently. * Willingness to work in varied and sometimes adverse conditions requiring physical dexterity. * Flexible availability to participate in a rotating on-call schedule for 24-hour emergency service. * Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional work environment. * Willingness to cross-train in related technical areas. Requirements: * Valid Driver’s License with a clean driver’s abstract. * Must pass drug and alcohol testing. * Must not possess a criminal record. Job Type: Full-time
