Position: Desktop Technician Duration: 6-month contract with possibility of extension Location: Selkirk, Manitoba Work Model: Onsite Pay Rate: $23/hour T4 About Our Client: Our client is a leading technology services organization providing reliable IT infrastructure, desktop support, and technical solutions to help businesses maintain efficient and productive operations. About this opportunity: On behalf of our client, we’re looking for an experienced Desktop Technician to provide onsite technical support in Selkirk, Manitoba. You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting desktop systems, network infrastructure, hardware, and end-user issues while delivering a high-quality customer experience. What You’ll Do: Provide onsite technical support for a broad range of desktop, hardware, software, and network-related issues. Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day technical issues efficiently to minimize customer downtime. Deliver a helpful, professional, and customer-focused support experience tailored to each user’s technical knowledge. Provide clear technical instructions and product information based on the individual customer’s needs. Determine cost-effective repair and resolution options while maintaining service quality. Proactively identify recurring technical issues and prepare reports to support analysis of product failures and service trends. Perform laptop refresh activities, including imaging, configuration, deployment, and setup of laptops for end users. Support internal desktop systems and network infrastructure as required. What You Bring: 2–5 years of related IT/Desktop Support experience, or an Associate’s degree, technical training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Solid understanding of IT services, desktop hardware, software, and technical support processes. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Experience with laptop imaging, refresh, deployment, and configuration. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Enthusiastic about technology with a willingness to learn and stay current with emerging technologies. Ability to work independently in an onsite support environment. Nice to Have: Experience supporting enterprise environments. Experience with network infrastructure troubleshooting. IT certifications or formal technical training.
