Your Opportunity: The Medical Radiation Technologist I will be part of a fast-paced General Imaging Team at the Red Deer Regional Hospital (RDRHC) in Central Alberta. The RDRHC is Level III Trauma facility responsible for treating and managing patients with high levels of acuity. The applicants should possess excellent working knowledge of all areas of the General Radiography and Fluoroscopy Department including portables and the OR. The General Radiography Team is responsible for working all shifts for a 24/7 facility and on call as assigned. In addition, the applicants should have ability/experience to work independently. Description: As a Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) I, you will perform a variety of standard technical radiological imaging examinations on patients for the purpose of disease and pathology diagnosis. You will interpret physician requisitions, prepare and assess patients for examination and produce high quality diagnostic images for Physician/Radiologist review, and assist with the care and maintenance of equipment. Your work may include a variety of procedures such as general and portable radiography, mobile and surgical suite examinations, as well as fluoroscopy where required. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Medical Diagnostic and Therapeutic Technologists (ACMDTT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Additional Required Qualifications: Excellent public relations and service-oriented character, proven problem-solving skills with logical/methodical work habits. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of Connect Care/PEI/Netcare. Demonstrated ability to work independently and/or in a team environment. Demonstrated initiative, judgment and attention to detail and accuracy. Proven ability to work in stressful situations. Demonstrated interest in professional growth and development. Completed Medication Management. Preferred Qualifications: As Required.

Requirements

Requires a diploma from an accredited Medical Radiation Technologist program and registration with the ACMDTT. Candidates must hold a current BCLS-HCP certification and demonstrate proficiency in Connect Care, PEI, and Netcare.
