For more information about the Board and district, visit Position Summary Reporting to the Plant Operations Manager, the Mechanical Systems Technician will ensure the proper maintenance and operation of all mechanical systems and related equipment owned by the Board. Qualifications High School Diploma and a 3-year Community College diploma in a related field. Valid Ontario Certificates of Qualification with evidence of experience as a qualified Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic, Gas Fitter 1 and Oil Burner Mechanic. Advanced knowledge of electrical/electronic circuitry, water testing, combustion analyzing equipment. Three to four years' experience with gas and oil equipment installation and service. Two years' experience in commercial/institutional maintenance. Three to four years' experience with air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation systems. Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety Act, building & construction regulations and trade standards. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 kg. (55 lb.) and to work from ladders and scaffolds. Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle in order to travel and provide service throughout the district. Requirements
Requires a high school diploma, a three-year community college diploma in a related field, and Ontario qualifications as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic, Gas Fitter 1, and Oil Burner Mechanic. Candidates need relevant trade and institutional maintenance experience, knowledge of safety and building regulations, the ability to lift at least 25 kg and work on ladders or scaffolds, and a valid driver's license with access to a vehicle.
