The successful candidate will troubleshoot, inspect, and maintain protection and control equipment within the transmission system. They will also collaborate with various departments to ensure safe work practices and high reliability for customers.

The student will assist in the operation, inspection, and maintenance of transmission substation equipment ranging from 4160V to 500KV. They will also support the team with capital upgrades, emergency responses, and the implementation of new substation technologies.

Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot transmission substation equipment, and provide equipment-status information and recommendations to planning and control-center staff. Support capital upgrades, new technologies, emergency response, safe work planning, and the development of junior employees.

The successful candidate will develop, validate, and manage transmission-system and electrical-equipment models while ensuring compliance with AESO rules and reliability standards. They will also support facility studies by providing capacity assessments, power flow analysis, and short-circuit information to internal and external stakeholders.
