As an Automotive Technician, your primary responsibilities include diagnosing, testing, and repairing vehicle systems to ensure their security and functionality, using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment. You'll conduct preventative maintenance, inspect critical vehicle components such as brakes, fuel systems, and engines, and repair or replace parts as needed. In addition, you'll mentor apprentices and maintain a safe and efficient work environment. What drives your day-to-day? * Perform oil & filter change * Sell lubrication, safety inspection, & related services * Perform complete multi-point inspection on vehicles. Mark required items on list & present findings to Service Advisor * Mount/balance/rotate/repair tires & add air as needed * Perform diagnostics, repairs, & maintenance * Inspect hoses, belts, plugs, fuel systems, brakes, & other items * Inspect motors in operation, road test, & test systems & components using computerized diagnostics & other devices to diagnose & isolate faults * Adjust, repair, or replace parts & components including fuel system, brakes, steering & suspension, engine & drive train, emission control & exhaust, cooling & climate control, & electrical & electronic systems What are the must-haves… * Traditional Apprenticeship OR Motive Power grads welcome * Oil change & tire experience is an asset * Basic computer skills * Shop / dealership experience preferred * Ability to meet physical demands such as heavy lifting, standing for long periods of time and ability to use power and hand-held equipment * Must possess a valid Canadian Driver's license and a safe driving history The Perks. * Competitive Compensation and Benefits Package * Employee Vehicle Purchase & Service Plans * Employee and Family Assistance Programs * Company-wide appreciation events and contests throughout the calendar year * Professional development and the opportunity to grow your career And those are just the basics. Requirements
Candidates must have a traditional apprenticeship or motive power graduation, along with a valid Canadian driver's license and a safe driving history. Basic computer skills and the physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for long periods are required.
