Job summary

Position Description: Surgical Technologist First Assistant Responsible for assisting the surgeon during surgery and plays a vital role in the operating room during surgeries. Communicates the surgeon’s preferences and specific patient needs to surgical team. Assists in positioning, prepping and draping of patients for surgical procedures. Provides retraction of tissues and organs for optimal visualization with regard to the surgical site. Assists with selecting equipment, holding incisions open, controlling bleeding, closing incisions and performing other technical duties. Position Details Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens Status: Full Time, Exempt: No Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm Weekend Work: Occasional On Call: Yes Requirements Required Experience: At least 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Tech and 1-year Surgical First Assistant experience. Required Education: High School or Equivalent and Surgical Technology First Assist Certificate Required License/Certification: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross and Certified Surgical First Assist (CSFA) Certification. Requirements

Candidates must have at least 3 years of experience as a Surgical Tech and 1 year as a Surgical First Assistant. Required credentials include a High School diploma, a Surgical Technology First Assist Certificate, BLS certification, and CSFA certification.
