Position Description: Surgical Technologist – Non-Certified The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care. Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room and patients to ensure sterile field. Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc. Assists with inventory of sterile supplies. May assist in patient transport. Position Details BayCare Health System, Ambulatory Surgery-SJH Location: St Josephs Main and Childrens Status: Full Time, Exempt: No Shift Hours: 6:30am - 3:00pm Weekend Work: None On Call: No Requirements High School Diploma or Equivalent Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program OR completion of a military or hospital-based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience. Requirements

Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited surgical technology program, or completion of a military or hospital-based training program plus five years of acute-care surgical technologist experience. Requires Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, along with knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, sterile field setup, and interpersonal skills.
