We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to join BGRE in Calgary, AB, who is responsible for providing a high level of service to building tenants while supporting the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of building systems and equipment. Working as part of the Building Operations team, this position performs preventative and corrective maintenance, responds to tenant service requests, assists with day-to-day building operations, and supports the Operators and maintenance team in maintaining a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained property. The successful candidate is a hands-on, service-oriented individual who takes pride in their work, demonstrates strong mechanical aptitude, and can effectively prioritize and respond to both routine and urgent maintenance requirements. Role & Responsibilities: Responding to and completing tenant service requests in a timely, professional, and customer-focused manner. Performing regular preventative and corrective maintenance on building equipment including pumps, fans, boilers, chillers, motors, and air-handling equipment. Troubleshooting equipment and identifying potential maintenance issues or deficiencies. Performing mechanical repairs, including changing motor bearings, pump seals, and other components as required. Assisting the Operators and other maintenance staff with day-to-day building operations and maintenance activities. Completing maintenance work orders and documentation accurately and in a timely manner. Assisting with contractors, inspections, shutdowns, and special projects as required. Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition. Embodying and supporting BGRE’s Safety, Health and Environment Policy: Proactively identify, manage, and mitigate hazards to reduce workplace risk. Engage in training and continuing education to develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies required to work safely Completing other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, Maintenance. Your Qualifications: Minimum Grade 12 high school diploma or equivalent A Fifth-Class Power Engineering Certificate is an asset. Minimum 3 years’ experience with a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, and air-handling equipment. Demonstrated understanding of preventative maintenance, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and mechanical repairs. Firsthand knowledge of plumbing, lighting, and mechanical repairs is an asset. Ability to read and understand equipment manuals, operating procedures, and maintenance documentation is an asset. Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an asset. Able to work independently with minimal supervision and understand the maintenance and operational requirements of mechanical equipment. A strong customer service orientation, with empathy and courtesy in all interactions. A professional and positive approach to resolving tenant concerns. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to prioritize requests, work independently with minimal supervision, and work effectively as part of a team. A strong sense of accountability, initiative, and follow-through.
