Position Summary Black & McDonald Limited is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Service Technician to join our growing Service team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The successful candidate will perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC/R equipment across a diverse customer base. A B Gas license is preferred, with opportunities for continued training and professional development. Key Responsibilities Perform service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, including: Rooftop units, make-up air units, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, and refrigeration equipment Diagnosing equipment issues and determining appropriate corrective actions Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical manuals Provide technical support and professional customer service on-site Identify opportunities for system improvements and preventative maintenance Communicate professionally with customers, facility managers, and internal project teams Complete service reports, work orders, and digital documentation accurately and efficiently Coordinate service activities with other trades, supervisors, and project managers as required Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours emergency service work, as required Maintain and operate tools, equipment, and company vehicle in a safe and professional condition Actively participate in safety meetings, training, and hazard assessments Qualifications & Requirements Journeyperson HVAC/R Technician trade certification B Gas License (preferred) Experience in commercial and/or industrial HVAC/R service work Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Strong ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manufacturer documentation Excellent communication and customer service skills Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record Physically capable of performing duties of the trade, including lifting, climbing, working at heights, and in confined mechanical spaces Assets (Considered an Advantage) Valid Manitoba Gasfitter B Certification (preferred) Experience servicing standard commercial, industrial facilities, or institutional buildings Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) and advanced controls Familiarity with mobile service management platforms Safety certifications such as First Aid, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Aerial Work Platforms Why Join Black & McDonald? Perform service, maintenance, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems including boilers, chillers, and refrigeration equipment. Provide technical support to customers and maintain accurate digital service reports and documentation.

Requires a Journeyperson HVAC/R Technician trade certification and a valid Class 5 driver's license. A B Gas license and experience with commercial or industrial facilities are strongly preferred.
