Role Description The Process Engineer role at Bunch Projects is a full-time, on-site position based in Calgary, AB. This role focuses on designing, analyzing, and optimizing process systems for energy facilities, supporting projects from concept through detailed engineering and construction. Day-to-day responsibilities include developing process simulations and design calculations, preparing PFDs and P&IDs, specifying equipment, and supporting process safety reviews. The Process Engineer collaborates closely with multidisciplinary teams, fabrication facilities, and construction personnel to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and compliant with relevant standards. The role also involves troubleshooting operational issues, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, and providing technical support during commissioning and start-up. Qualifications Strong foundation in Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering to develop, evaluate, and optimize facility processes. Experience in Process Design, including creating process documentation, equipment specifications, and design calculations. Knowledge of Process Control principles to support control strategies, instrumentation requirements, and safe, reliable operation. Well-developed Analytical Skills to interpret data, perform technical assessments, and support decision-making. Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering discipline; professional engineering designation (P.Eng or eligibility) is an asset. Experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or related energy-sector projects, preferably within an EPC or construction-led environment. Familiarity with process simulation software and relevant codes, standards, and regulatory requirements. Effective communication skills, ability to work collaboratively on-site with cross-functional teams, and strong commitment to safety and quality.
