Canoe Forest Products Ltd. is a busy plywood production facility located near Salmon Arm, BC, and produces superior quality Canadian softwood sheathing and specialty plywood products under the trademark CANOE brand®. Since 1965, the CANOE brand® has distinguished itself as a premium quality plywood panel that is well recognized and valued throughout the world. We are seeking a Red Seal Certified Millwright or 4th Year Millwright Apprentice to join our team! Reporting directly to the Maintenance Supervisor, the successful candidate will be part of the maintenance team within our manufacturing facility. This is a unionized position and is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement between Interior Forest Labour Relations Association and the United Steelworkers. KEY SKILLS: * Troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, and perform preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery * Read blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings * Utilize knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvements and savings QUALIFICATIONS: * Red Seal certification with 5+ years of experience or enrollment as a 4th year in a Millwright Apprenticeship Program * Commitment to safe work guidelines, policies, and procedures * Strong troubleshooting experience with PLCs, hydraulics, and mechanical machinery * Ability to work individually with little or no supervision in a dynamic team environment * Willingness to adapt to changing priorities * A problem solver with strong decision making skills * Previous experience with log processing/handling equipment and veneer production equipment is an asset * Holding a Boiler ticket is also an asset * Must have the ability to do shift work WAGE: 44.53 or 51.245 per hour as per the current United Steelworkers Collective Agreement.
