CGC Inc. is currently recruiting a Mill Maintenance Technician for our quarry operation in Little Narrows, Nova Scotia! This is a permanent, full-time position reporting to the Mill General Foreman. The Mill Maintenance Technician will be versed in preventative maintenance programs with proficiency in digital tools and a wide range of general maintenance skills. Hours of work may vary and be irregular with shift work required from time to time based on business needs. As Mill Maintenance Technician, You Will Conduct planned preventative & predictive maintenance on various equipment and keep accurate maintenance records Perform audits and inspections in all areas of the plant as required Operate plant mobile equipment including snow removal and yard maintenance equipment Troubleshoot various plant mechanical equipment, recommending and implementing corrective action and repairs General knowledge of facility management requirements, including plumbing, general carpentry, welding and fabrication Actively support company values and initiatives around diversity & inclusion, continuous improvement, training & development, etc. Training will be provided to operate the ship loader and general Mill production duties as needed. Shiftwork may be required to meet business requirements. Understand that safety is not just a priority, it is what we do. What You Bring Skilled trades certification is an asset, but equivalent experience and technical expertise may be considered Proven mechanical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills required with experience following preventative maintenance programs Availability of basic tools with knowledge of general plumbing, carpentry, welding and fabrication Experience in crushing / milling and ship loading procedures are nice to have but not required Proficient in the use of digital tools and platforms ie. Maintenance and manufacturing software Ability to evaluate performance and leverage tools to retain, engage and develop team members A track record of great work performance, attendance, and safety behaviors.
