POSITION SUMMARY: The Set-Up technician is responsible for troubleshooting molding processes, supporting production efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The ideal candidate possesses strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills. Responsible for: Managing and directing resources to tackle technical issues that arise during the shift that results in meeting safety, quality and delivery targets Fostering a working environment that is fair, equitable and driven to continuous improvements Setting, starting up and troubleshooting moulding machines for production runs Providing support to the Shift Supervisor Following and complying with Cube Management System (CMS) Duties: Set up and start up injection moulding machines Complete mould and insert changes Follow-up, trouble-shoot and adjust processes for any quality issues, including flash, long gates, warping, blooming, witness marks, cloudiness, etc Identify and communicate mould/machine problems to Shift Supervisor and Maintenance Technicians Maintenance and storage of moulds and inserts (tooling) Assist Shift Supervisors as required - training of new staff, incident investigations and audits to determine root causes and corrective actions Communicate with previous and next shift to understand any technical or quality issues Knowledge/Qualifications POSITION REQUIREMENTS High School Graduate Vocational school an asset 5 years minimum of technical experience in injection moulding Working knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics Basic tooling background an asset Demonstrated ability to solve problems and produce results Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing Crane, and forklift certification required Other Job Requirements Must be able to speak, read and write English Must have reliable transportation Must have full range of motion Must be able to sit, stand/walk for long periods of time Must be able to bend, twist and lift up to 30lbs Able to work 12 hour rotating continental shifts Benefits Extended dental, health and vision coverage upon completion of 3 month probationary period RRSP program eligible to participate after 3-month probationary period Quarterly bonus eligible to participate after 3-month probationary period Free on-site parking
