Role Description The Architectural Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Montreal, QC. The person in this role will prepare detailed technical and construction drawings, assist in the development of architectural designs, and ensure that documentation complies with building codes and standards. Day-to-day tasks include producing and revising CAD drawings, coordinating with architects and engineers, and supporting the preparation of permit and tender packages. The Architectural Technician will participate in design meetings, help resolve technical issues, and contribute to accurate project documentation from concept through construction. The role requires attention to detail, clear communication with project team members, and a proactive approach to meeting project deadlines. Qualifications Strong skills in Architectural Technology and Architecture, with the ability to translate design intent into precise technical documentation. Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Construction Drawings, including producing clear, accurate plans, sections, and details. Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools commonly used in architectural practice. Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architecture, or a related field. Knowledge of local building codes, standards, and construction practices, especially in Quebec. Ability to work collaboratively in an office environment and coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams. Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines. Previous experience in commercial, industrial, or multifamily residential projects is an asset.
