Job Title: AV Support Technician Location: Toronto, ON (onsite) Duration: 3 months contract (with possibility of extension/conversion) Job Summary Looking for an experienced AV Support Technician Contractor to join our Workplace Technology team. In this role, you will be the front line for all things conference room AV — keeping every meeting space running smoothly, day in and day out, for a fast-paced, high-growth environment. You'll own daily AV sweeps, troubleshoot everything from a dropped G Meet call to a misbehaving room scheduler, and be the person we call on to stand up a new conference room from the ground up. You'll also lend a hand supporting company events when needed, though this is a smaller part of the role — our events team leads, and you assist. Key Responsibilities Conference Room AV Support & Sweeps Perform daily AV sweeps of all conference rooms to proactively catch and resolve issues before meetings start. Support and assist employees using conference room AV systems, both on-site and remote, including G Meet, projectors, displays, and audio/video conferencing equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve G Meet hardware and software issues, including G Meet room kits, cameras, and in-room controllers. Support and maintain the Logitech Rally line of products, including cameras, speakers, microphones, Rally Bar, and Rally Bar Mini, across conference rooms. Support and troubleshoot Neat Bar Pro systems, including connectivity, audio/video quality, and firmware issues. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers, ensuring rooms show accurate availability and booking status. Know and work with your points of escalation to continuously improve the end-user experience. Train employees on the proper use of conference room AV equipment. Respond to support escalations from the IT Helpdesk, both in person and via our ticketing system, and triage hardware stacks as needed. Manage inventory for AV and IT hardware and software, including tracking, ordering, and stocking of spares and consumables. Conference Room Design, Installation & Troubleshooting Install and configure new conference rooms from the ground up, including mounting displays and cameras, running and terminating cabling, and installing and provisioning room hardware. Configure, calibrate, and maintain conference room audio systems, including DSPs, mixers, microphones, and speakers, to ensure clear and consistent audio quality. Diagnose and resolve complex, end-to-end conference room issues spanning hardware, software, network, and scheduling systems. Document room configurations, signal flow diagrams, and equipment inventories for all supported spaces. Assist with cabling, rack builds, and low-voltage wiring for new or renovated conference rooms as needed. Event Support (Secondary) Assist the events team with AV setup, breakdown, and on-site support for internal meetings and company events as needed. Provide backup support for live AV events, including all-hands meetings, town halls, and webinars, under the direction of the event lead. This role is not expected to lead or run event production — event support is an occasional, secondary responsibility. Documentation, Systems & Continuous Improvement Develop and maintain knowledge base articles and runbooks in Confluence for conference room AV systems, troubleshooting steps, and standard operating procedures. Monitor conference room AV system health using remote monitoring and management tools, applying firmware and software updates as needed. Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors for AV equipment procurement, repair, installation, and preventive maintenance. Stay current with emerging conference room AV and unified communications (UC) technology trends and recommend improvements to existing systems. Requirements 3–5+ years of experience in IT/AV support roles, with a focus on conference room and meeting-space AV support. Hands-on experience with the Logitech Rally line of products, including cameras, speakers, microphones, Rally Bar, and Rally Bar Mini. Hands-on experience with Neat Bar Pro or similar all-in-one video bar systems. Experience configuring and troubleshooting Logitech scheduling displays/room schedulers. Strong, hands-on experience troubleshooting G Meet hardware and software in a conference room setting. Demonstrated ability to install and troubleshoot a conference room from the ground up, including mounting, cabling, configuration, and testing. A positive, service-oriented attitude with strong customer service instincts. Solid critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to stay calm and effective when troubleshooting live, in-use meeting rooms. Ability to lift and handle heavy equipment (50+ lbs) as needed for installs and room builds. Basic to intermediate networking skills, including an understanding of servers, switches, Wi-Fi, and AV-over-IP fundamentals. Experience with administration of Mac computer products using enterprise management tools. Knowledge and hands-on experience managing Windows laptops and desktops. Experience using and managing ticket-based enterprise workflow/ticketing systems. Familiarity with common AV signal types and connectors, including HDMI, SDI, Dante, USB-C, and AVoIP. Strong verbal and written communication skills, comfortable presenting information to end-users of all technical levels. Some experience supporting live events is a plus, but this is not a primary requirement for this role — event support here is limited to assisting, not leading. Preferred Qualifications AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) certification, or actively working toward one. Experience with additional conferencing hardware ecosystems, including Poly, Yealink, Crestron, or similar. Experience with control system programming/configuration, including Crestron, Extron, or Q-SYS. Experience with audio DSP platforms, including Q-SYS, Biamp, or Extron. Ability to read and interpret AV signal flow diagrams and schematics. Bachelor's degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and hands-on experience.
