Tailings and Mine Waste Engineer - EIT

Type of position: Regular

Your future role on our team

Your role will consist mainly of designing tailings and mining residus, hydrotechnical, geotechnical, earthworks and various infrastructures in heavy industry sectors such as mining and metallurgy, energy, petrochemicals, etc. You will be asked to propose solutions adapted to client needs for every stage of the project cycle, from design and preliminary studies to construction.

• Participate in study projects
• Design and lead tailings and mining residus, hydrotechnical, geotechnical and various heavy civil infrastructures project, preferably using Civil 3D
• Participate in preparing construction plans and specifications to deliver civil works
• Participate in preparing estimates, quantity take-offs, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports
• Coordinate work with other infrastructure engineers and technicians as well as with other engineering disciplines
• Ensure quality control of work
• Maintain friendly, close relations with clients and their representatives

Overview of certifications and job requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent
• Member in good standing of the OIQ
• Experience in tailings and mining residus, hydrotechnical, geotechnical and various heavy civil infrastructures design
• Experience preferably using Civil 3D
• Asset: Experience in monitoring, inspecting or supervising work sites
• Bilingual (English and French), both spoken and written
• Ability to draft technical documents in both languages
