Based in Iqaluit, NU, and reporting to the Manager, Solutions Delivery, you will contribute to the establishment of corporate-wide security management programs and solutions to ensure that government information and its assets are protected. By remaining informed on trends and issues within the security industry, including current and emerging technologies, you will be equipped to develop, and assist in the distribution of, GN security policies and guidelines. As a Security Analyst, you will also be responsible for the design, architecture, testing, optimization and administration of security hardware and software solutions within the solution delivery network environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your profile as a qualified Security Analyst will include the following highlights:

  • A recognized diploma in computer sciences, information technology or a related engineering program.
  • Seven (7) years of recent experience in a large (over 2,000 users’ network) complex enterprise-wide network with diverse solutions from multiple vendors.
  • Five (5) years of progressive experience in physical and virtual desktop hardware, operating systems, software and applications support in a medium to large enterprise or government network environment.
  • Hands-on experience with devices such as switches and routers.
  • Current vendor certifications such as GIAC (security essentials and leadership certifications), ISACA, SCCP, CISSP, ISSAP, and MCSE Security.
  • Acceptable combinations of education and experience may be considered for this position. We encourage you to apply if you have equivalent years of education and/or experience equal to the education and experience requirements listed above.

ASSETS:

  • Proven experience in project and contract administration within an enterprise-level IM/IT environment.
  • Fluency in Inuktitut, one of Nunavut’s official languages (i.e., Inuktut, English and French).
  • Knowledge of the Inuit communities, culture and land, and Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit.
  • Experience working in a northern cross-cultural environment.

NOTE:

  • This is a Position of Trust and a satisfactory Criminal Record Check is required.

Compensation & benefits: This indeterminate position is included in the Nunavut Employees Union and offers a salary range of $113,764 to $129,128 per year (for 37.5 hours/week), plus a Northern Allowance of $16,008 per year. Note: Subsidized staff housing is available.
