Your Role
Reporting to the President and COO, the Director of Health & Safety & Environmental Compliance ensures P&H Milling Group meets all health, safety, and environmental regulations. This role involves updating and implementing policies, promoting a positive safety culture, and maintaining compliance with federal and provincial standards. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and works well both independently and in a team.Day to Day
- Develop Safety Programs: Create and manage health and safety programs to ensure compliance and promote a safety-first culture.
- Conduct Audits: Oversee annual audits of safety programs to check for compliance and effectiveness.
- Training Management: Oversee safety training, including finding resources, scheduling, and tracking progress.
- Regulatory Reporting: Handle all regulatory and environmental compliance reporting and manage necessary certifications.
- WSIB Management: Working with our consultants manage WSIB accounts, including claims and return-to-work cases.
- Support Policies: Lead and support the Social Accountability and Environmental Sustainability policies and committee.
- Budgeting: Develop, make capital recommendations and manage Health and Safety budget for our group.
Required Qualifications
- University degree or College diploma in a relevant field or equivalent employment experience
- Minimum five years' experience in a Health & Safety and Environmental Compliance
- In-depth understanding of the food manufacturing industry
- Must be able to work independently and in a team environment
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional CRSP,
- Certified Health and Safety consultant CHSC designations would be an asset
