StarTech.com is looking for an Associate Product Developer to join our Product Development Team at our Corporate Office in London, ON.

Reporting to the Manager of Product Development, the Associate Product Developer works closely with Product Managers, Product Developers and manufacturers in maintaining and extending the existing product portfolio as well as developing new product solutions. Working under the mentorship of a more senior product developer, the Associate Product Developer defines product requirements, performs technical evaluations and determines testing criteria needed to ensure released products meet the functional and quality needs of our customers and the market.

In This Role You Will

  • Gather product requirements from multiple sources and provide technical input on new product definition.
  • Investigate product offerings and identify product candidates that match approved product ideas for development
  • Perform testing on sample products using the extensive resources available in our lab and report on the outcomes
  • Troubleshoot product issues and recommend solutions
  • Communicate with manufacturers daily as products move through the stages of development
  • Author various product documents and review/provide input for customer-facing documentation including sales information, product manuals and web content, as well as, product drawings and data sheets
  • Stay up-to-date on key technologies including product applications, technology standards and specifications, IT infrastructure and associated products

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical / Mechatronics engineering or Electrical / Mechatronics technologist diploma
  • Previous technical experience through project work, co-op or internship
  • Knowledge or experience in DC power adapter circuit design
  • Strong interest in hardware/software development, product verification and IT solutions delivery
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of communication and organizational skills
