The Role:
Our team is responsible for delivering and supporting 3rd Party IPs such as SRAM & ROM compilers, in addition to inhouse Macro/IP development. All IPs need to meet AMD’s functionality, performance, and technology requirements while integrating seamlessly within the AMD design ecosystem. We are exposed to bleeding edge technologies and play a major role in shaping AMD’s roadmap and future products.
The role of the Memory Wrapper & Compiler Lead will be both to support AMD designs by creating/maintaining vendor-agnostic memory wrappers, and also to develop custom memory compilers for targeted applications. We are also searching for a QA lead that will enable rigorous/automated verification of our memories, so we welcome resumes for that role as well.
The Person:
The candidate will take a hands-on approach leading international teams in order to execute these requirements. This work will enable AMD to remain flexible and agile to any/all future technology shifts. The Memory Wrapper & Compiler Lead will have an integration-oriented perspective when developing both the soft and hard IP, with a keen eye on DFT requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create/Support/Enhance memory wrappers for RTL integration
- Automate optimal memory selection within AMD’s memory wrappers
- Lead inhouse memory compiler development
- Create associated DFT views for memory wrappers and custom memory arrays
- Close collaboration with CAD teams and memory experts
Preferred Experience:
- Proficient understanding of SRAM/ROM/ECC architecture, operation, and requirements
- Comfortable with script programming, such as, TCL, Perl or C-shell languages in a UNIX environment
- Working knowledge of Verilog/RTL, liberty files, spice simulation, and ASIC design flows
- Physical design experience, preferably with memory compiler tiling/routing
Academic Credentials:
Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering desired
