The Role:

AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is seeking an Engineer to work on contributing to the mission of developing new algorithms and techniques that give our product a leading edge. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team of innovators and shape the future of technology.

With a focus on image processing for real-time graphics, you will explore, adapt and refine our rendering solutions, as well as find unique and high impact improvements that increase performance whilst reducing power and area usage

The Person:

Be part of an advanced research & development engineering team and be part of an outstanding skilled team working with groundbreaking rendering and image analysis techniques and algorithms and developing the technologies of tomorrow.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and develop world leading image processing and upscaling solutions for graphics solutions and for the next generations of graphics
  • Define and implement methods and tools to aid in R&D of future rendering
  • Perform performance analysis and rendering optimization to get the most out of our GPUs (Graphics Processing Unit)
  • Identify and plan new research topics of value to the company
  • Propose and develop patentable ideas to enhance graphics systems to be more efficient, powerful and feature rich

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of spatial and temporal image analysis and processing; applied to computer vision or computer graphics domain products
  • Evidence of successful and relevant research track records (e.g., publications, patents, products)
  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience of recent 3D APIs (DX12/Vulkan) and ray-tracing APIs; implementation, optimization, and debugging
  • Optimization skill for low-level GPU rendering and compute (CUDA, HIP, Compute Shader)
  • Superb 3D math, algebra, and problem-solving skills
  • A good understanding of modern GPU architectures
  • Excellent problem solving and enough English for efficient communication

Academic Credentials:

Technical BS/MS degree or PHDs
