            This is a permanent full-time position working 35 hours per week.

Purpose:

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager – Allocation & Spatial Data Services, this position is responsible for maintaining tabular and spatial databases to support complex analysis of planning data.  This position will also support web mapping and database applications. 

Preferred Background:
The successful candidate must possess a Degree or Diploma in Data Management, Planning or GIS/Geomatics with a minimum of one (1) to three (3) years of related experience.  Advanced knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office (particularly Access and Excel), experience in ESRI ArcGIS is essential.  The successful candidate must possess strong technical, research and analytical skills to procure, validate and analyze information from databases, along with effective customer service skills to respond to various requests.  Experience with Graphics software such as Adobe InDesign would be an asset.  Knowledge of land use planning and experience in a municipal environment would also be an asset.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

Duties:

  • Provide co-ordination and management of data including performance indicators for all four sections of Planning Services (Planning Policy, Community Planning, Sustainable Planning, and Heritage Services)
  • Undertake research, collection, establishment, verification, and maintenance of Planning data and databases.
  • Monitors Departmental web content on the Region's internal and external website.
  • Respond to internal/external customer requests.
  • Support the GIS Specialists in database, program development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
