Nasittuq is currently bidding on the contract for the Operation & Maintenance of the North Warning System (NWS). The NWS is a joint Canada and United States early-warning radar system with 47 sites located in Northern Canada; a Control Centre and Support Centre located in North Bay, ON and a Contract Management Office located in Ottawa, ON.

This job posting is being advertised in advance of award of a contract. Employment is contingent upon Nasittuq being awarded the contract.

Responsibilities:

The Sustainment Manager is responsible for the sustainment of all NWS equipment, systems, and infrastructure including:

  • Preparation, implementation, and administration of an NWS Life Cycle Material Management (LCMM) Plan for the NWS to include trend analysis on the performance of NWS equipment, systems, and infrastructure with annual reporting.
  • Preparation, implementation, and administration of an NWS Configuration Management Plan for NWS configured items.
  • Management of Engineering services for the design of sustainment projects.
  • Implementation and Project Management of sustainment projects.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or a diploma in Engineering Technology or be eligible for certification as a P. Eng or CET.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience working in an engineering or other technical services department
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience managing an engineering or technical services function
  • Familiar with industry recognized tools such as GREEN UP, Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and Green Globes
  • Adaptability and ability to manage priorities with attention to detail and work cross-culturally
  • Computer literate in MS applications, strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Candidates must be Canadian citizens, be eligible and maintain Level (II) SECRET security clearance.
