Instrumentation Technician

Sarnia, ON

As an Instrumentation Technician, you will maintain, install, troubleshoot and repair all types of pneumatic, electronic, control and power systems with due personal regard for safety, following verbal or written orders from support site operations. This is a fixed-term position with 2-year term.

The successful applicant will possess a combination of the following:


  • Certified 309A Construction and Maintenance Technician (Ont. Reg. 175/11)
  • Instrument and Control Engineering Technologist diploma and/or relevant industry experience are required
  • High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory


  • Must maintain a valid Class 'G' driver's license and safe driving record
  • Good working knowledge of Windows-based programs
  • Able to read and interpret schematics, loop drawings
  • Able to estimate, plan and execute work
  • Knowledgeable on relevant safety procedures, practices, codes and legislation and conversant with rights and obligations under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations
  • Familiarity with the following would be an asset:
    • Honeywell TDC2000, TDC3000, HPM, Experion, Siemens Quadlog PLC, Allen Bradley PLC
    • Siemens/Applied Automation Gas Chromatographs, Maxum ABB Gas Chromatograms, Continuous Emissions Monitoring
    • SystemsCEMS), Ametec/Thermox and Servomex O2 analyzers, Ametek/Western Research analyzers, Rosemount and other pH meters
    • TOD and TOC analyzers and Turbidity Analyzers
