The KMHB is looking for a career oriented individual to become part of our Construction Project Services team.
ARCHITECT – Employment Location Kuujjuaq
Under the supervision of the Project Coordinator, you will be responsible for the transmission and for the revision of technical specifications between professional firms and KMHB Services. More specifically, you will communicate the technical requirements of KMHB's building renovations to external architectural and engineering firms, comment on their technical specifications in accordance with applicable building codes and KMHB standards. You will verify compliance between plans and the work being done. There will also be some project management duties.
To apply you must be a member of the Quebec Order of Architects with 4-6 years' experience with multi-family residential construction and renovation. The ideal applicant will be well organised, attentive to details, professionally driven, personally confident, have great communication skills, adaptable and committed to contributing to a cohesive team environment. You must have an excellent understanding of applicable building codes for residential constructions and renovations. Residential construction experience and Northern experience will be a great asset during the pre-selection.
Applicants for the above-mentioned position should be able to work in two of the three languages spoken in the region (Inuktitut, French and/or English). Your computer skills must include the use of Microsoft 2013 and AutoCad. Municipal housing office experience represents a definite asset.
