The Kativik Regional Government (KRG), a supra municipal body with jurisdiction over the territory located north of the 55th parallel, is now looking for a self-motivated and dynamic individual interested in joining the KRG to work in the capacity of:

PROJECT MANAGER – WATER INFRASTRUCTURE
 (Permanent - Full time)

Under the direction of the Municipal Public Works (MPW) Department, the Project Manger is responsible for the management and monitoring of infrastructure engineering and construction contracts under the Isurruutiit Program for municipal infrastructure improvements (in particular water and wastewater treatment, storage, transmission and distribution, etc.).

Reporting to the Department Director and working closely with the other employees of the Department, the selected candidate will be responsible, among other things, to:

• Plan and manage the implementation of municipal infrastructure projects (new, upgrade or repair);
• Evaluate the needs of the northern villages and assist with prioritizing projects;
• Implement preliminary project stages with the northern villages (pre-project): programs, budget estimates, financing packages, etc.;
• Coordinate the preparation of plans and specifications by external professionals;
• Coordinate the drafting of call for tender documentation;
• Liaise between professionals, contractors, and northern villages at all project stages;
• Ensure the overall monitoring of projects for project owners: compliance with deadlines, budgets, rules and standards, project modifications, project inspections by professionals, payments, financing, warranties, etc.;
• Assisting in operation and maintenance of the infrastructure, operator training and QA/QC activities;
• Delivery of technical assistance to the northern villages regarding the operation of municipal infrastructure;
• Perform any other related duty requested by their supervisor

Requirements:

• A university degree in a relevant engineering discipline. A technical background in the field combined with work experience and relevant achievements could be considered as an equivalent;
• Formal training and/or a certificate in professional project management would be an exceptional asset;
• At least three years of relevant work experience;
• Municipal project management experience is an asset;
• Ability to process several files simultaneously in a structured and organized manner;
• Excellent ability to express concepts in plain language and actively listen to needs;
• Excellent adaptation skills;
• Available to travel frequently in Nunavik;
• Resourcefulness, independence, and capacity for teamwork;
• Written and oral working knowledge of at least two (2) of the following languages:  Inuktitut, English and French;
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, as well as other specialized softwares (AutoCAD, etc.).

Place of work:           Kuujjuaq.

Salary:                      Minimum $54 041 and maximum $92 727 annually (Class 10).
