As Training Coordinator (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS)) at L3 MAS you will:
The RPAS Training Coordinator will support the training of both military and commercial aircrew and technicians for the new Royal Canadian Air Force Remotely Piloted Aircraft System capability. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic Integrated Project Team comprised of the Department of National Defence (DND) Program Management Office, DND Training Development Officers, Commercial training delivery suppliers subcontracted by MAS and our Team Artemis Team-mate, Israel Aerospace Industries.
Collaborate with the Subcontractor dept. in managing the relationship with and between current and future Artemis RPAS Training Service Providers to ensure that they maintain their capability and capacity to meet all contractual obligations;
Coordinate Customer requirements for technical and aircrew training in accordance with the RPAS Statement of Work;
Prepare business cases and collaborate with the Subcontractor Department to initiate subcontracts for all RPAS training services;
Work with the various flight tests, engineering and maintenance Service Managers to plan internal training activities;
Prepare and present training material to DND in cooperation with service providers at the Training Working Group;
Coordinate all Customer Requests for supplemental and continuation training;
Coordinate schedules for the training of technicians and aircrew with the service providers and ensure adherence to schedule;
Manage all RPAS training projects from initiation to closure as per internal guidelines and best practices;
Ensure training records and regulatory paperwork issues are managed and processed in a timely and accurate manner;
Act as a point of contact with engineering, technical and operational personnel to ensure that all training devices continue to emulate the most current RPAS configuration and capability;
Collaborate with the Program Department to Produce performance reports (Key Performance Indicators) for senior management, reviews with customer and present them as required in their respective forums;
In collaboration with the Training Department, conduct simulator and classroom assessments of instructor competence and performance;
Collaborate with RPAS SubContract Department to ensure invoicing is aligned with contractual terms and conditions;
Occasional travel will be required to meet with, inspect and monitor the RPAS Technical Training Centre to be established at the Air Maintenance Detachment (East) and the Aircrew Training Centre to be established in Ottawa and collocated with the RPAS Ground Control Centre (GCC). Liaison visits with the IAI UAV Academy will also be required from time to time and frequent meetings with the customer will generally be held in Ottawa.
An undergraduate degree, preferably in Education, Project Management or Business Program, or equivalent experience;
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the commercial aviation industry or DND, preferably in a role related to Aircrew or Technician Training Management;
Knowledge of Aviation Training Organizations operations;
Knowledge of Aircrew Training curriculums and Simulator Device management;
Knowledge of the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES) requirements;
Contract management and negotiation skills, an asset;
Strong interpersonal skills—a high degree of interaction with customers, service providers and internal stakeholders;
Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex subjects in a simplified manner;
Strong computer literacy skills:
MS Project Management
Learning Management System
Ability to function as a team player independent of management oversight;
Willingness to work flexible hours to support the needs of our customer; and
Fluency in both official languages, French and English.
Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
Location not accessible via public transportation, car required.
