Type of position: Regular


The successful incumbent will provide geotechnical engineering services and task execution and will be responsible for delivering geotechnical site investigation, analysis, design and construction review services within the context of overall project management objectives.

In particular, you will be responsible for the following supervised tasks:

  • Perform the technical management and direction of geotechnical site investigations, supervise investigation activities, perform laboratory materials testing and prepare technical reports.
  • Review and supervise civil and geotechnical construction activities.
  • Prescribe geotechnical instrumentation, supervise installation, monitor and report results.
  • Analyze geotechnical engineering, including slope stability, seepage and deformation analysis
  • Participate in multidisciplinary project teams, including the technical quality of deliverables.
  • Collaborate and participate in technical discussions with team members and clients.
  • Participate in proposal efforts.

  • B.Sc. degree in Engineering Geology, Civil Engineering or Mining Engineering, with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering required
  • Registered or eligible for registration as an Engineer-in-training (EIT) with the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • From 1 to 3 years of relevant professional geotechnical engineering experience
  • Strong academic background and solid understanding of soil mechanics
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills, technical writing experience as well as presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with a team
  • Familiar with geotechnical design software: SLOPE/W, SEEP/W, SIGMA/W, RS2 and other geotechnical software is an advantage
  • Ability and willingness to travel to project sites within Canada and occasionally overseas
  • Asset: bilingual (English and French)
