Specific Job Description

  • Management of Corporate and Program network & server systems
  • Support of day to day system management tasks
  • Assist with gathering of requirements, design, estimate, coordinate with vendors, etc. for assigned projects
  • Develops, promotes, implements and documents standard and compliant solutions
  • Installs, configures, secures and administers Windows servers
  • Data Backups
  • Network administration
  • Implements Service Packs, Hotfixes and Security Updates
  • Incident management
  • Drive standardization across the business, leveraging existing enterprise investment where appropriate
  • Support improvements to the infrastructure including data security, disaster recovery and business continuity.

Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Graduate of industry recognized Information Technology (IT) diploma program
  • 5 to 10 years system/network admin experience in medium to large business environment
  • Thorough knowledge of server level operations and software principles utilizing Windows operating systems
  • Good knowledge and experience supporting and managing VMWare environments (preferably on Dell ESXi Hosts and Dell/Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Compellent and Unity SAN’s)
  • Good knowledge and experience supporting Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience identifying systems Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) port requirements and preparing data flow diagrams
  • Maintains all information systems compliant with the enterprise information policies and standards
  • VMware and/or Cisco certifications
  • Solid troubleshooting and resolution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both verbal and written) with all levels of staff
  • Ability to develop technical solutions to complex problems, both as an individual and in a team
  • Enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to prioritize own tasking.

Desired skills, qualifications and experience

  • Active Directory support and administration (Domain Name Server (DNS), Group Policy Object (GPO), …)
  • Backup software such as EMC Networker and/or Veeam
  • Citrix XenDesktop and Netscaler gateway
  • Demonstrated successful IT project implementation
  • Experience of Enterprise IT Organizations/solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and ambiguous environment.
