Join us a Program/ Product Manager, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in St Bruno,Quebec.

Purpose of the job:

Located in the Product Family (PF) and reporting to the Platform Products Director, The Program/Product Manager will act as the main point of entry of the PF in the Region and will coordinate the product development activities:

  • Lead capturing market requirements and defining inputs to R&D and sustaining plan for given a Product family
  • Initiate programs to support the strategic direction of the organization – especially on convergence of multiple Products addressing similar market needs
  • Lead preparation of analysis / rational for PxO selection (PDO /PIO/PSO) especially prioritizing the convergence approach and respecting QCD targets
  • Support Bid Teams to reach the expected QCD targets in line with PF’s PxO strategy
  • Lead governance of approved R&D programs with métiers / Compo sites
  • Support Development and product convergence (between the products of the Platform) during pre-bid, bid and project phases

Responsbilties :

  • Under the guidance of the Product Family Director, review in detail the product solution in pre-tender phase on required gaps vs Ref Sol based upon client requirements, and supports regions during BOR and Win-No Go preparation
  • Challenge and validate any product solution changes to reach better QCD targets during QCD reviews
  • Drive standardization
  • Propose & validate architecture
  • Put in place objective evaluation of re-use on each tender as well as corresponding structured follow up in project
  • Pre-validate QCD for the Products Director (1st project application & specific product) or ensure robustness of QCD
  • Put in place adequate governance to ensure the adherence to the product reference considered at tender stage (re-use), all along the project. Will participate to the Project Reviews (CPR and MPR) preparation to comment on the adherence to the targeted product reference, to the Business Awards, as well as to any relevant Project team governance so as to alert on a possible deviation vs targeted product reference, and request for arbitration between Product Director and Project Manager if required,
  • Ensure robustness of the product project validation plan and associated results
  • Ensure the respect of DFQ principles on Projects (participation to Train GR)
  • Consolidate the REX from projects
  • Lead Business Case preparations for R&D initiatives required for the Product Family
  • Drive R&D initiatives directly under PF and ensure agreed KPIs and compliance with PF’s R&D objectives are achieved
  • Developing budget and operating plan for the R&D program
  • Support competitiveness director in defining and manging the Ref Sol for the Product family

  • Convergence initiatives
  • Re-use on each tender, Winning Tenders
  • Product adherence in project phase vs commitment taken in tender
  • Validation plan results
  • REX from projects

Qualification :

Experience: Extensive technical and Alstom platforms knowledge and project/company background

Competencies & Skills

  • Balanced skills between general management, technical management, and project management
  • Strong leadership and ability to federate teams on technical orientations to reach QCD targets
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead cross-functional activities and numerous/various stakeholders
  • Ability for analysis, problem-solving and efficient decision-making in complex environment
  • Ability to work across sites in a multi-cultural environment
