Our Infrastructure Group has an immediate requirement for a Transportation/Traffic Engineer in our Saskatoon or Regina offices. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who can work in a team environment and want to be involved in exciting local, regional, national and international projects. The successful candidate will work directly with senior project managers and design teams to delivery our current and future projects.
Your Key Responsibilities
Conducting and assisting with traffic analysis using various software platforms (Synchro, SIDRA, VISSIM, etc.).
Other technical assignments including data analysis, functional planning studies, and multimodal transportation planning.
Supporting in studies, assessment, and planning work associated with Active Transportation.
Writing and editing technical reports and engineering studies.
Assisting with data collection (field work and travel may be required).
Preparing drawings using AutoCAD software.
Coordinating with engineers and technical staff to ensure that the project needs are met in a timely and effective manner.
Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients.
Assist in the preparation of proposals and work plans for new assignments.
Assist with business development to expand client base within the office and market segment.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Knowledge of Regina, Saskatoon, and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways transportation markets and processes, with strong past client relationships is an asset.
Experience in Active Transportation, Traffic Safety, and Rail Safety is an asset.
Experience with construction activities is an asset.
Ability to manage projects and teams of different disciplines.
Strong oral and written communication skills and place a high emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong leadership and team building skills.
Education and Experience
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline is required. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in engineering/project management and project implementation with experience in the design of transportation related facilities. Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan (or eligible for licensing with APEGS).
The position will primarily work in an office setting; some field work will be required to support data collection, project site visits, attend client meetings, etc.
