MAIN DUTIES
- In charge of the development and maintenance of health, safety and environmental systems
- Ensure the standards are observed
- Conduct in-depth statistical analyses
- Define risks
- Propose appropriate solutions in accordance with applicable legislation and corporate policies
- Ensure the implementation of new standards
- Be the main contact for inspection services
- Train personnel on the standards to be observed
- Negotiate and manage the health, safety and environment budget
- Participate in internal awareness campaigns
- Depending on the size of the company, the HSE position can be split up among different professionals or be done by a single engineer.
EDUCATION
This profession is accessible via a university degree, generally a bachelor’s, in the scientific area matching the sector in which you wish to work. Afterwards, specialization through a master’s degree, Ph.D. or equivalent training is required.
