INDUSTRIAL MILLWRIGHT Full Time Location: Hamilton, ON Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Industrial Millwright’s duties and responsibilities include the following: • Testing, troubleshooting, diagnosis, repair and maintenance of all types of steelmaking equipment. • Installation, maintenance and repair of heavy industrial equipment (e.g., bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, pumps and compressors, hoists and other lifting devices, mobile equipment, fans and blowers, heat exchangers and cooling towers). • Analysis and interpretation of drawings, manufacturer specifications, and equipment manuals to locate faults, determine repair or installation procedures, plan future work, and identify material needs. • Complete all other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes: • Must be a certified Millwright, holding a Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Mechanical Millwright (433A). • At least three years of experience working as an Industrial Mechanic/Millwright, preferably in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting would be considered an asset. • Willing to work rotating shifts (days, nights, and afternoons), overtime as required, and the occasional weekends. • Mechanical aptitude with proven trouble-shooting and diagnostic skills. • Superior analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, whether working independently or as part of a team. • Strong safety track record. • A strong willingness to work in a fast-paced, lean environment where adaptability, innovation and hard work are valued above all else. • There is a shift premium is paid to employees working the afternoon shift ($0.35) and ($0.55) working the night shift.
