Your work environment at EXP As a Geotechnical Field Technician at EXP, you’ll gain practical exposure to geotechnical and environmental fieldwork while supporting a wide range of construction and infrastructure projects. This is a great role for students studying civil engineering, environmental engineering, geoscience, or related fields who want real-world field experience. **Candidates may be considered for either a full-time position or a casual contract role, depending on qualifications and business needs. What a day at EXP has in store for you * Conduct soil compaction testing using a soil density gauge * Perform concrete field tests (slump, air content) and cast concrete test cylinders * Observe asphalt placement and conduct sampling and compaction testing What your experience looks like * Graduated from Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Earth Sciences or related program diploma * Minimum 2 years of experience in inspection and testing such as concrete and compacting testing, footing, subgrade, and/or rebar inspections, and engineered fill * CCIL Certified in Field concrete testing * Ability to problem-solve and think proactively on site * Comfortable reading and interpreting drawings/specifications (training provided) * Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with contractors and team members * Solid report writing and attention to detail * Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to job sites * Physically able to lift/carry equipment such as soil density gauges and concrete cylinders This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization. The hourly range for this role is between $23 to $28. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
