Express Employment Professionals is hiring on behalf of our client for a CAD/Civil Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a Civil Engineering Technology or CAD Technician background who enjoys office-based technical work while staying connected to field operations. Working alongside an experienced survey team, you'll prepare layouts, analyze survey data, and provide the technical information field crews need to keep projects moving efficiently. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and looking to build a long-term career with a well-established engineering and municipal development company. Key Responsibilities: Prepare accurate drawings, layouts, and survey models using AutoCAD Analyze and interpret survey data to support construction and municipal development projects Develop survey models for construction layout and machine-control systems Perform volume calculations, quantity take-offs, and other technical analyses Prepare reports, calculations, and project documentation Coordinate information between office staff, project managers, and field survey crews Provide technical support to help keep projects on schedule Occasionally visit project sites to assist with field-related activities (approximately 5% of the role) Qualifications: Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Technology, or a related program 2-5 years of relevant experience preferred, although more experienced candidates are encouraged to apply Strong AutoCAD skills Surveying experience or knowledge of survey equipment is considered a strong asset Ability to interpret technical drawings, survey information, and construction plans Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing high-quality work Valid driver's licence and steel-toed boots for occasional field visits What’s in it for you: Competitive hourly wage of $25-$35/hour, based on experience Permanent, full-time position Monday-Friday schedule 7 am to 5 pm Medical benefits and RRSP program Excellent opportunity for long-term career growth and professional development Stable company that values honesty, teamwork, and quality work About Express Employment Professionals At Express Employment Professionals, we help people find temporary, permanent, and contract opportunities that align with their skills, experience, and career goals.
