Summary The Mold Repair Technician is responsible for ensuring molds are maintained at factory-quality standards to support uninterrupted production and consistent product quality. This role plays a critical impact on operational efficiency by performing precise repairs, preventative maintenance, and quality inspections to extend mold life and minimize downtime. This is a 2nd-shift position with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 3 pm - 11:30 pm. The hourly pay rate for this role is $24.93. Responsibilities Restore damaged molds to factory-quality standards through sanding, grinding, filling, and polishing techniques. Perform gelcoat repairs, including application, color matching, and buffing to create a seamless finish. Complete structural repairs using resin systems, fiberglass mats, and controlled curing processes. Conduct preventative maintenance on mold surfaces to reduce production downtime and maintain performance. Document all repair activities and inspect finished molds to ensure they meet quality specifications. Qualifications Education & Experience High School Diploma required; additional experience preferred Minimum 3 years of related experience required; 5+ years preferred Technical & Role-Based Requirements Strong understanding of composite structures, resin systems, and curing processes Proven ability to perform detailed mold repair and surface restoration work Skills & Abilities Proficiency with hand tools, power tools (such as grinders and sanders), and pneumatic equipment High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship Ability to follow strict safety protocols and properly use PPE, including full-face respirators in environments with styrene exposure Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 lbs Comfortable working at heights (ladders), in confined spaces, and in overhead positions Why Join Mattr?
