In this hands‑on role, you will perform a variety of distribution operations, construction, maintenance, and restoration activities while working closely with customers and team members to ensure safe, reliable service. Job Description: Construct, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot overhead and underground electrical distribution systems. Perform live line work and support the safe operation of the electrical distribution network. Develop switching plans and perform system, radial, and substation switching activities. Complete hazard assessments, maintain safe worksites, and support incident investigations. Perform distribution operations, maintenance, patrols, repairs, and outage restoration activities. Coordinate construction readiness activities, including planned outages, contractor coordination, and project preparation requirements. Respond to customer trouble calls and power interruptions with professional and timely service. Participate in standby rotations and emergency response activities as required. Support specialized operational functions such as cable fault locating, testing, system switching, and advanced construction activities. Mentor apprentices and contribute to the development and success of the team. Qualifications: Journeyman Power Line Technician certificate. Valid Alberta Class 3 driver's licence with air brake endorsement. Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced field environment. Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and Outlook. Additional trade certifications, certificates, diplomas, or degrees in a related discipline are considered an asset. Important: Permanent, full-time role. Monday – Friday schedule, with participation in after-hours and weekend standby rotations. Based out of our Redcliff service location. Successful candidate must reside within 50 kilometers of the assigned service point office, or within a 40‑minute response time. This is a unionized role and the successful applicant will be required to become a union member on hire if they are not one already. Occasional overnight travel may be required. Current driver's abstract and criminal background check required. Safety-sensitive position requiring pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
