About the Role Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Location: Abbotsford, BC (and surrounding areas) We are seeking an ASTTBC Registered Fire Protection Technician to perform inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on fire and life-safety systems in accordance with the BC Fire Code, NFPA standards, and ASTTBC requirements. This role involves daily travel to customer sites across the Lower Mainland. We aim to assign work within a reasonable proximity to your home base where possible; however, travel throughout the service area is required. You will work directly with customers, complete accurate reports, and help ensure their properties remain safe and compliant. We are open to both experienced technicians and newer certified candidates who demonstrate strong technical ability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities Conduct inspections, testing, and maintenance of: Fire extinguishers Fire alarm systems Emergency lighting Sprinkler and suppression systems (based on certification level) Complete clear, detailed inspection reports and deficiency notes in a timely manner Communicate professionally with clients and internal team members Diagnose system issues and perform repairs as required Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, standards, and company procedures Requirements ASTTBC Fire Protection Technician Certification (required) Preference will be given to candidates with multiple endorsements (FE, FA, EM, SI, SD, etc.) Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License and acceptable driving record Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to perform physical work, including lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working at various job sites What We Offer Competitive wages: $24–$37/hour (based on certification level and experience) Extended health and dental benefits Company vehicle Paid training and support for additional certifications and endorsements Stable, year-round work Opportunities for advancement as your skills and certifications grow Schedule Monday to Friday with an evening and weekend on-call rotation.
