Job Description Summary The position will provide engineering expertise associated with the manufacturing process in La Prairie while also providing frontline leadership to the Shift 2 production employees. This role is on Shift 2, 40 hours /4 days per week. Position Impacts departmental operations and is responsible for planning/execution. The role has some autonomy but is focused on execution of activities within an operating discipline covered by standard functional practices and procedures. Analyser les causes racines des défaillances répétitives et concevoir des solutions correctives (mécaniques, électriques ou procédurales) pour améliorer la fiabilité des équipements. Supporter la mise en service de nouveaux procédés ou ajustements de lignes. Garant de la performance opérationnelle : Piloter la performance du quart de travail en surveillant étroitement les indicateurs de performance (KPI), les cadences de production et l'OEE (Efficacité Globale des Équipements). Participer à l’identification et l’élimination les goulots d’étranglement pour maximiser la productivité globale. Standardiser les méthodes de travail et s'assurer que les opérateurs respectent les normes de sécurité, de qualité et environnementales établies. Autonomie et prise de décision sous supervision : Démontrer une autonomie décisionnelle immédiate sur le terrain lors d'incidents techniques, en évaluant l'impact sur la sécurité et le calendrier de production. Contribuer aux projets ayant des décisions à fort impact financier ou organisationnel. Prioriser les tâches de manière proactive afin de garantir le respect des objectifs du quart de travail, même dans un environnement sous pression. Collaboration au sein d'équipes pluridisciplinaires : Représentant des différents départements (Qualité, Planification, Achats, Méthodes) lors du quart de soir. Transmission des informations aux services concernés afin de résoudre les incidents détectés. Animer ou participer activement aux réunions de transmission de quart (shift hand-over) pour assurer une continuité parfaite du flux opérationnel. Contribuer à des projets d'amélioration continue transversaux, en partageant l'expertise acquise sur le terrain pour influencer les décisions d'ingénierie à long terme. Qualifications Requises Diplôme d'ingénieur ou (diplôme d'études secondaires/équivalent avec expérience pertinente), plus : 3 ans ou plus d'expérience en ingénierie de fabrication. Aptitudes personnelles : Excellente capacité de communication. Gestion du stress et réactivité face à l'imprévu. Esprit collaboratif et orienté vers les solutions. The Manufacturing Engineer acts as the technical and operational anchor of the plant, serving as the link between manufacturing engineering strategy and daily shop-floor execution. Role And Responsibilities Technical Production Support: Provide immediate technical assistance to production teams to resolve operational bottlenecks in real time. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement sustainable corrective actions (mechanical, electrical, or procedural) to enhance equipment reliability. Support new processes or production line deployment. Operational Performance Oversight: Drive shift performance by closely monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), production throughput, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). Identify, quantify, and eliminate bottlenecks to maximize overall productivity. Standardize work methods and ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout the shift. Autonomy and Decision-Making under Supervision: Demonstrate immediate decision-making autonomy on the shop floor during technical incidents, assessing impacts on safety, quality, and production schedules. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for technicians and operators, while maintaining regular reporting lines with management for high-impact financial or organizational decisions. Proactively prioritize tasks to ensure shift objectives are met, even in high-pressure environments. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the representative for various departments (Quality, Planning, Procurement, Methods) during the evening shift. Communicate incident details to the relevant departments to ensure timely resolution. Lead or actively participate in shift hand-over meetings to ensure seamless operational continuity. Contribute to transversal continuous improvement projects by sharing on-site expertise to influence long-term engineering decisions. Required Qualifications Education: Engineering degree OR High School diploma/equivalent with relevant experience, plus: Experience: 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
