Requirements: * Licensing/Education: Registered Millwright Apprentice (or working towards trade certification). * Experience: 3+ years of experience in a maintenance or industrial setting (waste/recycling industry preferred). * Technical Proficiency: Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; experience working with waste bins, compactors, balers, or similar mechanical equipment is an asset. * Welding Skills: Demonstrated experience completing minor welding repairs and fabrication. * Safety Commitment: Ability to successfully satisfy all company standards for safety-sensitive operational roles, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. * Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: * Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on bins, compaction systems, and baler equipment. * Repair & Diagnostics: Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues related to truck bins and plant equipment. * Operational Readiness: Assist in maintaining operational readiness and uptime of recycling and waste handling machinery. * Documentation & Reporting: Maintain and update service records, inspection logs, and equipment history; complete daily reporting and tracking of all maintenance and repairs. * Planning & Coordination: Work collaboratively with operations and fleet teams to coordinate downtime and maintenance schedules. * Parts Procurement: Identify parts and materials required for repairs and liaise with procurement for sourcing. * Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all work is completed in strict compliance with GFL’s safety standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines. * Additional Duties: Perform other operational duties as assigned by leadership. #GFLTalent We thank you for your interest.
