Job Description: Mid- and High-rise Residential Building Mechanical Systems Design, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and sprinkler systems. Create concepts and develop detailed designs, tender packages, and construction documents. Perform calculations and prepare drawings, schematics, and specifications. Conduct field visits. Assist in equipment sizing and selection. Read, understand, and apply Ontario building codes and CSA, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards. Assist in ensuring quality standards and project deadlines are met. Aid in the problem-solving of issues within projects administered by Designers and Engineers. Able to manage multiple projects of varying size and complexity at the same time. Able to work in a stand-alone capacity. Any other tasks assigned by Principals or Project Managers are required to assist in the success of the firm. Qualifications: A valid Registered Professional Engineer in Ontario (PEO) is an asset. Minimum 5 years of Canadian Experience as a Mechanical Design Engineer in Consultant Firm, specializing in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and sprinkler systems. Experience with both AutoCAD and Revit Must be a team player with strong technical and communication skills. Must be fluent in the English language, with excellent verbal and writing communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple projects within a fast-paced environment. Strong working knowledge of Ontario building codes and CSA, ASHRAE, and NFPA standards. Ability to work and apply technical resources with minimal supervision. Superior computer skills, including MS Office, AutoCAD, REVIT, and other design tools. Willingness to learn and/or be familiar with various HVAC, plumbing systems, and develop a layout of pipe and duct runs in coordination with the structure, electrical, and architectural components. Strong understanding of mechanical construction, installation methods, technologies, planning, management, commissioning process, etc. Strong knowledge of all mechanical systems from both the design and installation perspectives, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and sprinkler systems. Valid Ontario Driver’s License (required).
