Job Description GTA, ON Summary The Quality Control Technician, based in Caledon, Ontario, supports projects across the GTA and Ontario by performing field testing, inspection, and sampling of construction materials. Reporting to the Quality/Project Manager or Field Supervisor, this role plays a key part in ensuring quality standards across project sites. Primary Scope Of Role Field inspection and testing of asphalt, aggregates, soils and concrete. Field testing to include sampling, coring and compaction of various materials. Maintain accurate and complete records of testing activities. Assist in proper care, control and maintenance of testing equipment, including timely calibrations of assigned equipment. Follow all company and regulatory safety policies and procedures. Assist when required with Geotechnical inspections and investigations. Complete reports and checklists as per company policies and/or contract requirements and advise supervisors of any non-conformances and deviations. Assist with Laboratory testing of materials when required. Perform other duties as instructed. Position Requirements Post-secondary education in a 2- or 3-year college program such as Civil / Construction Engineering Technology or equivalent program is an asset but not required. Prior construction project or material testing experience is an asset but not required. Strong problem-solving skills and must be able to effectively communicate with managers, engineers, supervisors and other team members. Able to use and maintain hand and power tools. Must have a valid G driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract. Able to perform heavy lifting >25kg. Able to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to travel and work on remote projects throughout Ontario. Must be available to workdays, nights and weekends as needed. Must be able to work long shifts and extended hours, overtime as necessary. What We Offer Expected hourly rate: $22.00 - $27.00 per hour. The actual rate will depend on several factors including experience, qualifications, internal equity, work location and market expectations. Career growth and advancement opportunities.
