Job summary
Service Technician Status: Regular, Full time Location: Calgary, Alberta JOB DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Business Centre's Manager, the Service Technician is responsible for completing a variety of required services and customer support both in house as well as in a mobile capacity, on safety related equipment. Duties may include: SCBA and gas detection certification service and repairs, regular maintenance service and recertification of breathing air compressor systems, Quantitative Fit testing, Inspection/certification of fall arrest equipment. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES: * Manage, Test, Repair and Re-Certify customer owned equipment according to manufacturer specifications and local standards; * Arrange for Customer authorization of work orders; * Maintain adequate stock levels in mobile unit; * Create and maintain accurate records such as vehicle inspections, driving logs, equipment inspections, and schedules, daily invoices, timesheets, flow tests and notes for any special circumstances such as condemning equipment; * Ensure updating of customer contact list and schedule of required services; * Develop and manage growth in the portfolio by working closely with customers, our Sales department and Management; * Assist other staff with their duties when schedule and workload allows for such; * Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: * Professional and courteous demeanor; * Attention to detail; * Troubleshooting; * Excellent organizational skills; * Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing English; * Manufacturer training in inspection and maintenance of safety related equipment or industry training would be an asset; * Valid Class 5 driver's license; * Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically; * Training and Certification will be provided to the right individual where applicable.
