Hatch is looking for a Civil Engineer to help shape some of the most ambitious mining, energy, and infrastructure projects in the industry — working out of our Mississauga office on a portfolio of ongoing, high-impact assignments. In this role, you'll lead general civil engineering and design activities spanning site preparation, grading, drainage, roads, and paving for major mining and heavy industrial projects. What You'll Do Lead the civil project team through to completion on assigned projects, covering bulk earthworks, site drainage, and mine and plant roads design Own QA/QC of design calculations and contract documents Take on discipline practice responsibility for your assigned project scope Collaborate closely with project managers and multidisciplinary design teams to keep projects moving and integrated Drive quality control through rigorous drawing and calculation checking and verification What You Bring Proven experience managing and leading projects within the Civil Engineering discipline A Civil Engineering degree from a recognized engineering program Professional Engineer licensure in Ontario (or eligibility for licensure) preferred 7+ years of relevant industry experience in mining, energy, or infrastructure Project management experience on mid- to large-scale projects; a PMP designation is a bonus Hands-on expertise in site grading design, drainage design (storm sewers and stormwater management), roads design, sanitary sewers design, and hydrology/hydraulics A thorough understanding of the design process, including proficiency with civil design software packages Prior design experience in bulk earthworks, site grading, storm drainage, access and haul roads, and earth structures on large-scale projects The ability to juggle competing priorities and manage time effectively A track record of leading, mentoring, and motivating junior civil engineers A collaborative, self-motivated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills who delivers results Base salary range: $89,000 - $138,000 At Hatch, we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. In accordance with legislated pay transparency requirements, the expected salary range for this position is based on current market data and aligned with internal pay structures to ensure consistency and fairness. Your individual compensation within this range will depend on factors such as skills, experience, qualifications and location.
