Hays has recently partnered with a developing Calgary firm who are looking to add an Architectural Technologist to join their growing office. Taking a client centric approach in everything they do, this firms diverse team infuse their artistic talents, experience and imagination to bring life to design. They provide architectural and interior design services for mixed-use, multifamily, commercial and institutional projects across AB, BC and NWT. This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding firm with ample opportunity for growth and development. Responsibilities: Prepare and coordinate detailed architectural drawing packages from design development through construction documentation. Conduct building code analysis and ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and municipal requirements. Apply building science principles to envelope detailing, constructability reviews, and technical problem solving. Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical consultant information to ensure fully integrated project documentation. Participate in construction administration activities, including site reviews, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, supplemental instructions, change documentation, and deficiency reporting. Support permit submissions and liaise with municipal authorities as required. Review drawings and specifications for accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements. Collaborate with internal team, consultants, contractors, and clients throughout the project lifecycle. Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues during design and construction phases. Qualifications: Minimum of 5 years’ experience as an architectural technologist, local experience is strongly preferred. Experience in mixed-use, multifamily, commercial and/ or institutional projects. Extensive knowledge of local building code and building science. Proven CA experience, including site reviews, shop drawing reviews, RFIs, deficiencies, and contract administration documentation. Strong understanding of construction methods, detailing, building systems, and project delivery. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. The successful candidate will receive a base salary $65,000 – $80,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus potential, extended benefits, public transit reimbursement and opportunities for growth within the company.
